Floating Strips Technique
Today I made a card using the Floating strips Technique and the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper from Stampin’Up! Instantly add layers of dimension, texture, and color to your cards, scrapbook pages, and more with the Masterfully Made 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. These mixed-media masterpieces give you all the benefits of hand-painted and hand-torn designs without any of the hassle. This technique is so fun and you can use different designs from circles to rectangles to squares like I did.

SUPPLIES:
Paper: Pretty Peacock Card Stock, Poppy Parade cardstock, Melon Mambo cardstock, Night of Navy cardstock, Crushed Curry Cardstock, Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper, Window Sheets
Ink: Pretty Peacock Blends
Embellishment: Rhinestones
Tools: Trimmer, Tombo Liquid Glue, Paper Florist Dies
Instructions:
- Cut Pretty Peacock Cardstock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ for base.
- Cut Window Sheet into a 4″ x 4″ square. Cut Cardstock into (6) – 1/4″ x 4″ strips. Cut designer series paper into (one) 1/4″ x 4″ strip and (3) – 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
- Adhere the cardstock strips to the window sheet with Tombo Liquid Glue, leaving space between strips. Adhere the designer series paper with Tombow Liquid Glue, leaving space between the strips. Adhere window sheet to card base with Mini Dimensionals behind strips to conceal them.
- Die-cut flower from Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock cardstock. Gently roll the flower petals back and layer on top of each other with liquid glue. Adhere to card with Dimensionals.
- Die-cut leaf from Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhere behind the flower. Sprinkle on Rhinestones colored with Pretty Peacock Blends.
